Privacy Policy
How Findom Canada collects, uses and protects your information — written to be read, not just filed.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information Findom Canada ("the platform", "we") collects when you use the website, why we collect it, how it is protected and the choices you have. It applies to visitors and members of findomcanada.com.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information you provide when registering: email address, chosen display name, role, city area and profile preferences.
- Profile content you choose to add: descriptions, interests, limits and photos.
- Usage information: pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate region derived from IP address.
- Communications: messages you send through the platform, retained so the conversation exists for its participants.
3. How We Use Information
- To operate your account and show your profile to other members according to your privacy settings.
- To suggest compatible members based on role, city area and stated preferences.
- To enforce community standards, review reports and investigate fraud or coercion.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse and improve the platform.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run third-party advertising networks on the platform.
4. Profile Visibility and Your Controls
Your profile is visible only to registered members, and only to the extent you choose. Photos can be kept private, your city is displayed as an approximate area, and you can pause your visibility or delete your account at any time from your settings. There are no public, search-engine-indexed profile pages.
5. When Information Is Shared
We share information only with service providers who operate the platform under confidentiality obligations (hosting, email delivery), when required by Canadian law, or to protect members from fraud, coercion or imminent harm. We never share member information for marketing purposes.
6. Payments Between Members
Findom Canada does not process tributes or payments between members and never asks for your banking passwords or verification codes. Any payment decision is made privately between members, at their own discretion and risk. If anyone claiming to represent the platform requests your banking credentials, report the account immediately.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Account information is retained while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, photos and conversations are removed from active systems within a reasonable period, except records we must keep for legal, fraud-prevention or safety purposes.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring to protect member information. No system is perfectly secure; using a strong, unique password and keeping early conversations on-platform are the most effective protections you control yourself.
9. Eligibility
The platform is restricted to adults aged 20+. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone below that threshold and remove any account found to violate it.
10. Your Rights
Under applicable Canadian privacy law, you may request access to your personal information, correct inaccuracies, or request deletion. Contact us through the platform to exercise these rights.
11. Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, the updated version will be posted here with a new revision date. Material changes will be announced to members through the platform before they take effect.
